Do Republicans Every Say Anything In Good Faith?

We have yet another episode of "Find Out What They Are Lying About".

That's always the game with them.
You'll find yourself wasting a lot less time if assume everything they outside of their private circles is a lie, an obfuscation, disingenuous, misleading, a red herring etc.

And get it out of your head that they are "not real Christians". They've been Real Christians the entire time. For the past 5 centuries and before that. Start getting it in your head that when a right-of-center person of European descent identifies themselves as a Christian; They are linking themselves to everything that has been done while screaming "Jesus!" at the top of their lungs.

They were Christians when they were storming the capitol. When committing vehicular homicide in Charlottesville. When stomping out a black man at a Trump Rally in Florida. When their christian teenagers shoot up schools and go on incel massacres. When they burn down black churches. When they shoot up black churches. When they had the Brooks Brothers Riot. Whenever a cop murders someone, I just want to ask two questions of the officer.

Sir. Are you a Patriot? Yes.
Sir. Are you a Christian? Yes.

Just to get it on the record. When they showed up to see Ronald Reagan speak at a cite where Freedom Riders were murdered. When they murdered the Freedom Riders. When they established Jim Crow laws. When they fought to keep my great-great-grandparents as their personal labor and rape dolls (slaves) They were Christians then as well.

And yes, I only go back that many sets of Grandparents before we're back on the CHRISTIAN Plantation.
